Happy Halloween!
Halloween in our household is hit-or-miss. And – I’m just going to say it – sometimes it is a complete $hitshow. Like the time my younger son couldn’t see with his mask and walked into a mailbox. Or when my toddler daughter lost her shoe in the pouring rain. Or when my oldest, who has autism, pooped his pants and ran into the street.
It’s usually not all that dramatic, but special needs plus holidays are always challenging. There are food allergies, sensory issues with sounds and lights and costumes, and safety concerns. I try not to get too uptight about everything. Because, as we all know, even the best laid plans can quickly go down the drain. Better to just roll with it.
In the spirit of that, I’m simply sharing pictures of a few of my favorite Halloweens spent with my kids. I love the years when they are agreeable to letting me coordinate their costumes! I hope that you will share some of your favorite (or worst!) Halloween memories and pictures with me as well!
